  • What's the setup?
  • The communist state of Arstotzka has ended a 6-year war with neighboring Kolechia and reclaimed its rightful half of the border town, Grestin.
Your job as immigration inspector is to control the flow of people entering the Arstotzkan side of Grestin from Kolechia. Among the throngs of immigrants and visitors looking for work are hidden smugglers, spies, and terrorists. Using only the documents provided by travelers and the Ministry of Admission's primitive inspect, search, and fingerprint systems you must decide who can enter Arstotzka and who will be turned away or arrested.
  • Is there nudity and/or violence?
  • The game has both pixel-art nudity, which can be disabled from the options, and pixel-art violence, which cannot.
  • How long is the game?
  • Story mode takes at least 4 hours to reach one of the main endings. The game is divided into days and there are 31 days in all. Retrying days or getting multiple endings takes longer.
  • How many endings are there?
  • There are 20 different endings. Some are small variations of others. 8 of the endings are attained by completing the entire game in different ways.
  • What determines which ending I'll get?
  • Endings are based on the decisions you make each day. The amount of money earned has an influence on several of the endings.
  • Is the game completely scripted?
  • Story mode is mostly scripted. A separate procedurally-generated 'endless' mode is unlocked after reaching a certain ending in story mode.
  • What is endless mode?
  • Endless mode allows you to play one of three game-types with an endless flow of procedurally-generated travelers: Timed, Perfection, or Endurance. Each game-type has a different scoring system. You can also choose from 4 different rulesets for any game-type. A ruleset determines which border checkpoint rules are in effect and which documents are required for travelers.
  • Can endless mode be unlocked without completing story mode?
  • Yes. Endless mode is initially locked using a simple 5-digit code that's shared among all copies. Check the internet for someone who's already gotten the required ending and posted the code.
  • What languages does the game support?
  • The game was developed in English and includes localizations for French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Japanese, Russian, and Polish.
  • Does the Steam version have any special features?
  • The Steam version supports achievements, stats, and cloud saves. Endless mode uses Steam leaderboards for rankings.
  • Does the iPad version have any special features?
  • The iPad version has all 31 days and 20 endings and has been optimized for touch input. There's a redesigned portrait-mode interface and (unlockable) multitouch support for faster paperwork. It also includes a mid-day resume feature, Game Center achievements, and leaderboards. There is no additional game or story content in the iPad version.
  • Does the PS Vita version have any special features?
  • The PS Vita version has all 31 days and 20 endings and uses both touchscreen and physical controls. It has trophies (small-scale, so no platinum), online leaderboards for Endless mode and a mid-day resume feature. There is no additional game or story content in the PS Vita version.
  • Will the game be ported to 'X' platform (Switch, PS4, XBox, Android, etc)?
  • There are currently no plans for any other platforms.
  • Can I monetize Let's Play videos of this game on YouTube/Twitch/elsewhere?
  • Yes! You're free to monetize your own videos that play, reference, or review the game. If the video isn't about or doesn't reference 'Papers, Please', you are not permitted to use the theme song or other media from the game.
  • Can I post a copy of the trailer (or any other official media) to my YouTube/other video channel?
  • No. If you'd like to promote the game, please link to the homepage here or to the official videos on YouTube.
  • Glory to what?
  • Glory to Arstotzka.

A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

All the students studied hard for the test
Most of them really tried their best
The night before they got sleep
but their grades made them weep
and afterwards they were all still depressed

Description

Screens 4 6 9 x 9. Welcome to a cute little edutainment title that teaches about addition, subtraction, and the feeling of failure. No one asked for an edutainment game aimed at high school and college students but here it is. Here's a dumb little game that approaches the topic of what happens to students who tie their mental health to their grades.

Arcane legends pc. Simcity: complete edition 1 0 2. Unfortunately the economics of the game are not able to afford us the luxury of continued development and support for Aftermath. With sadness we’ve made the difficult decision to close Aftermath. It wasn’t an easy decision for us, as we’ve been quite emotionally invested in Aftermath, but sometimes these kind of decisions have to made in. Artist Statement

Making this game I was inspired by all of the edutainment video game titles I played as a kid. The kind of simple little games that tried teach math and critical thinking. I started thinking about what an edutainment title for an older audience would be like. The way I see it the content of what’s being taught isn’t the most important difference. The most important difference is that older students are way more stressed. Overall I’m just trying to capture the feeling of being an older student. I want players to feel a little bit of the stress that comes with telling students that their grades will define their futures. I hope you enjoy finding out that the test is nothing like the homework.

-Your humble game dev
